i got the acuman one on my cbr engine and cant get it to work. After messing with the speedo sensor i got it to program but its not very good at it and shows 6th when im above 3rd gear.

i just ignor it and try and hit 7th all the time.

Sorry about my spelling, im an engineer and only work in numbers.

We've got an Acumen one in our RRW blade Indy. It was easy to set up and it works fine.

How much!!!!! I thought I was on Locostbuilders???

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

I had a DataTool one in my old KC. Worked really well and had a nice little snake pattern when it got bored in neutral!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Don't see why not as long as you have a speedo pulse and tacho pulse. Most of the units can be programmed for the number of gears you have.

For mechanical speedos, some kits manufacturers can supply an extra bit of kit to give you a speed pulse (sensor and magnet).

after driving my car around i realised you soon loose track of what gear your in
i did start another thread to see if any of the clever electric boffins that use this site could create me a cheaper alternative but to no avail
and apparently the gipro ones are just plug and play

Martin, I actually helped Healtech Electronics (Speedohealer) with their research to develop and market the GI Pro gear indicator for the ZX12R. Before that, we'd tried both the Datatool Digi and Acumen DG8 units (both developed by the same person BTW) and couldn't get either of them to work.

It seemed daft that the ZX12R had a gear position sensor yet no-one produced a GI to work from it, so I spoke to Acumen with this in mind. Unfortunately, they wouldn't develop a GI that worked from the gear position sensor, even though I provided a comprehensive schematic diagram for them.

Healtech however, were quite keen on the idea and after months of research and testing they produced one for the ZX12R. We've had ours fitted for quite a while now and it's superb. Never misses a beat.

Acumen wouldn't work on my carb Blade powered Indy, even after phoning the manufacturer and fitting the speedo pick up sender that they sent for free. When i retrofitted an injection blade engine, i reconnected it into the loom and it worked brilliantly using the speed and rev pulse from the ecu (via a speedohealer for speed output.)

Based on this experience and the hours of head scratching and swearing that ensued, If its a carb engine you have i'd recommend avoiding the acumen type.

My and my mate Dave are going to make one that will be able to be used for both sequential gearboxs and normal H pattern boxes, we think we could make and sell them for about £10-£20 using a 7-segment display, a PIC board and some other gizmos. If they work well we might sell them or as a group buy etc.

Cheers Mark

The accumen works great on my GSXR 1000 powered...GSXR 1000! If you're quick going down through the box it gets a bit lost sometimes but sorts it's self out once you get back to neutral/1st.
Not quite what you asked but if it works on the bike....
