Ooooh look it's raining, that will keep the dust down.
They are saying it's the wettest August for 100 years.

If I were you, living below sea level, I wouldn't hang around.

Kipper.

I know the feeling, 17 years ago I moved from 13ft (2 metres) above sea level to nearly 200ft (61 metres) above sea level. Thats a real achievement on the edge of the Fens in Cambridgeshire

Mind you the move wasnt down to global warming. Being a Radio Ham, its just better radio reception and transmitting.
Its like having a 200ft mast at my old house, without the mast.

Well I did succumb a little bit, and now have a nice little 40ft mast at my new location... you can never have enough height for your aerials
Next nearest high spot is 30 miles south, or about 3000 miles to the east (Ural mountains)

1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Best Regards
Geoff

Who was saying this? Doesn't seem half as wet as it was this time last year?

I've heard that this summer is actually fairly average/normal for the UK:

But then, who knows....who do you believe?

I'd have needed an ark on saturday evening, local river burst its banks, so spending the day cleaning up, water only went down last night, my Celica, 205 rally car, mates Laguna, a 106 I had forsale, all got nice dirty water in to them, (water came in that fast i could only tow them out) the robin hood in the garage, got soaked, along with my welder and lots of other tool / parts. My garage had 22" of water in it, the back yard is just such a mess. The joys of the rain.

OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

Ooh have had fun with the weather this past 4 days!

I went to a festival in Devon (its the levellers one called beautiful days) this past weekend and my god the rain and mud! my Van was completely plastered in it trying to get it out of the field, was very surreal going along at 5mph with the speedo reading 45mph and getting people to help you out when you got stuck! I did my fair share and got covered in mud so the interior is just as bad! The weather during the festival was pretty bad, barely stopped raining.

Had an amazing time tho and am looking forward to next year!
