Quick Release Boss

I've always used the 'spline' type where you pull back on the flange to release. Pic below:

Noticed that Wilwood do a QR boss with a release button. Much cheaper! Pic below:

Has anyone used the Wilwood type and able to offer an opinion?

just having a think, are these alright for SVA? I've got one fitted, but just thought, the car shouldn't be able to be started without it fitted...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I asked the local SVA man and he didn't have a problem.

Is it the Wilwood one you have? How is it?

Quick release

have had both fitted to racecars in the past, splined type is much better, the wilwood one loosens up after a while

Mine was fine. It had a little play in it but nothing to worry about!

Cheers peeps!

Like I said - I've used the 'splined' ones in the past and they too are prone to 'play', so probably worth the gamble... £25 for a Wilwood one or £100 for a splined one? Easy decision - as long as it stays attached!

Hi

I have to agree with Chris ^^^. And the only splined boss that still has no play in it even after 5 years plus of track work is the SPA one. Mind you do pay for the quality. £120 Inc VAT and P&P. Just depends if you think it is worth paying for.
But personally i would not fit any other QR boss after using an SPA.

Cheers Matt
