Indeed...being member no. 84 from back in the day 2002 I recall both Syd and Rorty very well.

Rorty was/is a person who thought he was an engineer, and wrote uneducated and uninformed drivel. Ring any bells with someone on here still?
And as I recall, it was the words and work of a certain Scotsman who moved to Cyprus, that lead to Rorty's departure.
Get your history right.
