Which Zetec alternator ?

Could anyone recomend a small and cheap alternator for a Zetec instalation. It is for an autocross car so no lights, happy to fabricate brackets etc.

Thanks in advance.

Think you can get away with a smaller ACR-type jobby, as found on earlier Land Rovers etc.

I'm going for a diddy 40A (roughly) version such as 18ACR 45 Amp Alternator, Pulley &' Fan Fits FORD PINTO Engines which should be more than up to the job, not too dear, and fits nicely on my RetroFord alternator bracket!

Are alternators rotationally sensitive?

Yes.
Instead of the waveform going up and down, it goes down and up.
This is due to the beer you spill in your oscilloscope.
