zetec idler pulley bracket
Looking for an idler pulley bracket that goes in place of the air con and power steering.
I've seen a few people have made up their own but was wondering if there are any off the shelf kits for simplicity?

Raceline do one, very nice but quite expensive, about £80 from memory.
Great British Sports cars do one, does the job but not pretty, no idea about price. In my experience some of their stuff is a bit rubbish and getting
a refund can be difficult. Pay with VISA.
Dunnell one is priced the same as a Gold ingot but he will not sell just the pulley.
You could alternatively just buy a suitable pulley and make a bracket. Its not that difficult, I certainly would not buy another.

I personally dont like the way it mounts to the water pump but im sure it works fine.
Race line one mounts things a little differently and as mentioned is quite expensive (par for course on Raceline items)

There was no way I was paying that sort of money.
When making mine I looked at a few ideas. Mine turned out a lot like the retro ford one.
I used a bit of 20x10mm flat bar with a bolt into the block. I then made a 3mm plate, welded over the bar and curved down to the water pump as a
torque arm.
So in total its 1/2" steel bar held with an M12 bolt with a plate down to the water pump with an M6 bolt just to stop it moving/
Then just space the pulley away as needed. Cost me nothing.

That home made item doesn't look too hard, I might have a go at that.
I guess as long as you get a good fit pulley and line it up nice and square.
well at least I know where to go if I fail.
